Red Voices

The people who follow Liverpool Football Club are amongst the most passionate, creative and witty supporters around. Their banners and songs are now the stuff of legend, and they boast amongst their ranks some of the finest football writers around.

In the last couple of decades there has been an explosion of supporter produced media. I am proud to associate myself with the likes of This is Anfield, The Liverpool Way, Red All Over the Land Fanzine, The Redmen TV, Across The Park Podcast and These Football Times.

Of course, I am eternally grateful to Pitch Publishing for placing their faith in me and publishing my books. But, if it wasn’t for the dedicated Reds who created these outlets, my writing would never have seen the light of day in the first place.

So, I would like to provide opportunities to aspiring Red writers to have their writing showcased on this site. In the coming weeks and months, you will be able to read articles, news and views from ordinary Liverpool supporters and established writers too.

I want these pages to be truly representative of Liverpool’s wonderfully diverse fan base. So, irrespective of your race, gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation, whether you are a local or an out of towner, I want to hear from you.

If your work is interesting, funny, clever, informative or all of the above, then I will publish you. You can write about the club, the city, its culture, politics or art. Tell me what supporting the Reds means to you and, if you support from afar, what’s that like?

I welcome contributions from experienced writers and those who’ve never written before. The only thing that matters is that you have something interesting to say. That, to me, is more important than being polished. I’m looking for the authentic voice of Liverpool supporters.

My only red line is that I won’t tolerate racism or other forms of bigotry.

So drop me a line in the form below if you’re interested.

I look forward to hearing from you.
